(posted 01-02-2011) PixelatedGeek Refresh Project, Back Around to Tax Season
I have just completed putting some of my newly acquired HTML5/CSS3 skill to use with helping out with launching "version 4" of the PixelatedGeek site. I see good things happening this year for them, and am enjoying my role as a developer a bit more that as a writer (however, I think I may still be contributing from time to time.)
Looks like we are already gearing up for tax season at Intuit, its amazing how fast things go when you keep busy. I will have some updates with our new projects get results!

This was quite a unique experience for me and I am glad to be part of it. While on call rotations and rush fixes put a strain on oneself, the end of tax-year payoff was great. It's awesome to work in an environment where people care as much as they do!

In all my hurry I forget to update my site. I have been working at Intuit since late in August and have mainly focused on getting the updated Quicken.com site live. I primarily worked on the front-end templates and some minor JSP integration. I will soon be moving to the Support WebTeam! Can't wait to meet the new crew (and a lil sad once I move away from the current one).
(posted 6-23-2009) Previous Company's Best-Of Reel
MEA Digital has recently posted a Best-Of Reel. Since I have a good deal of work represented in it from you days there, I thought I would link over to it (in addition to my other design and code). You can view it here.
(posted 4-20-2009) Webby Awards
I was just informed that one of my ActionScript/PHP projects got an honorable mention for the Webby Awards. The piece involved banners and a microsite, and can be previewed at my old agency (MEA Digital) here.
(posted 4-1-2009) Veoh and Layoffs (not april fools day related)
Veoh went through a second round of layoffs during my time there. This time I was not so lucky. This site will be undergoing some updates in preparation for my renewed job hunt! For those of you who have already been sending me leads, giving me recommendations and helping in any way you can ... thank you.
(posted 10-20-2008) Moving to Veoh
I have ended my long stretch at MEA Digital today, which I am very sad about, and moved on to Veoh. The people at MEA Digital were awesome, and I hope to keep in contact through the years with some people I have met there.
I will be continuing a side project with one of those people for as long as it keeps on rolling! I wish everyone the best.
(posted 08-29-2008) Updated Site, Resume and Portfolio
My resume has been re-focused on web development and Flash development from a programming standpoint.

(posted 07-17-2007) About Myself
This is the portfolio site of James Paul McGinley: web developer, web designer, and jack-of-all-trades in all things "web" related. I have worked on projects for several high-profile clients, such as: Oakley, Nickelodeon, Mitsubishi Electric, Odyssey Golf, Kyocera, and Top Flite.
These various projects have taken me through banner creation, email templates, email strategy, search engine optimization, web design, web development, content management systems, AJAX, and much more...
